Larson Family
The Larson family has been a longstanding supporter of workforce education and student success at Ozarks Tech through both philanthropic giving and industry partnership. Led by Glenn Larson, owner of Peterbilt of Springfield (now TLG Peterbilt), the family’s commitment to education has helped strengthen opportunities for students pursuing careers in the transportation industry and beyond.
In 2010, the Larson family made a transformational investment in Ozarks Tech by donating two diesel tractors to support hands-on training in the College’s Transport Training Institute while also establishing the Larson Family Scholarship through a $100,000 endowed gift. Together, these contributions reflected the family’s belief that students should have access to both high-quality training and the financial resources needed to achieve their educational goals.
Today, the Larson Family Scholarship continues to provide assistance to students with financial need, ensuring that the family’s generosity continues to make a difference for future generations. Their enduring support demonstrates a commitment to expanding educational access, strengthening workforce development, and investing in the communities served by Ozarks Tech.
Impact
The Larson family’s support has created both immediate and lasting benefits for Ozarks Tech students. Their gift of diesel tractors enhanced the hands-on learning environment for students preparing for careers in the transportation industry, providing valuable training experiences with industry-relevant equipment.
The endowed Larson Family Scholarship continues to remove financial barriers for students by providing renewable scholarship assistance year after year. Because the scholarship is permanently endowed, the family’s investment will continue to support students for generations, helping them complete their education and enter the workforce with the skills needed to succeed.
Through their vision and generosity, the Larson family has helped strengthen workforce education while creating opportunities that positively impact students, employers, and the southwest Missouri community.
