Lisa Reece Memorial
Lisa Reece was a dedicated educator whose passion for teaching and commitment to students left a lasting impact on Ozarks Technical Community College and the many communities she served throughout her career.
A lifelong resident of the Ash Grove area, Lisa believed deeply in the power of education to change lives. After graduating from Ash Grove High School, she continued her academic and athletic journey at Southwest Missouri State University, where she excelled as a multi-sport athlete and was later inducted into the Missouri State Sports Hall of Fame. Lisa went on to earn her master’s degree from Pittsburg State University, further strengthening her dedication to education and student success.
Lisa began her teaching career in Hume, Missouri, before spending several years with the Springfield Public Schools. She later joined Ozarks Technical Community College, where she served students for many years with care, enthusiasm, and high expectations. Even after retiring from Ozarks Tech, Lisa’s love for teaching drew her back to the classroom, most recently at Missouri State University.
Above all, Lisa was known for her ability to connect with people. She genuinely cared about her students, colleagues, and community, always striving to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. Outside of work, she cherished time with her family—especially her grandchildren—and enjoyed traveling, lake trips, garage sales, and trout fishing.
The Lisa Nicholson Reece Memorial Scholarship was established to honor her life’s work and passion for education. Through this scholarship, Lisa’s legacy continues by supporting students as they pursue their academic goals and prepare for meaningful careers.
