Theodore J. "Ted" Andrews Memorial

To those of us who knew and loved Theodore J Andrews, our hearts are aching. He passed away at the young age of 66 on August 18, 2015. Ted, Theo or PaPa was known as a gentleman, who was loving, caring and kind to so many people. His family, wife Gigi Andrews, sisters Judy Marshal and Sally Smith, children Matt Andrews, Bryan Andrews, Amy Pyatt, Ashley Bell, Andrea Dupree and Ally Owens, his 8 grandchildren and his numerous friends and acquaintances will miss this gentle soul.

Ted was born and raised in Springfield, Mo, where he spent his summers playing in his neighborhood and winters building snow forts with his sisters and numerous neighborhood pals. He attended Parkview High School and Southwest Missouri State University where he graduated with a degree in English. He worked as a postman for several years before he started his career in the insurance business. He quickly grew to love the field of health insurance and continued in that field until his passing.

Ted believed in giving back to his community by volunteering for many years with the Alzheimer Association, ARC of the Ozarks, Rotary and as a Shriner. He was also proud of his work with Alcoholics Anonymous for over 20 years. Ted would love to share his favorite bible verse Proverb 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Funeral services will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Schweitzer United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
